100th anniversary of the renaming of Middleton Towers station:

On 1st November 1924, Middleton station was renamed to Middleton Towers, following the grouping with LNER the year prior.

I have been informed by Network Rail that a brand new pair of crossing gates will be installed on the weekend of 2nd November, which coincidentally marks the 100th anniversary of the renaming of the station.
