Debris clearance work begins

Work completed today:

  • Painting of the gas lamp posts (light Brunswick green - LNER colours)

  • The platform store room has largely been cleared out, with a few artefacts left behind.

The room will be used for seating for the tea room operations

  • Fitting of a sign on the access gate.

The gas lamp posts date back to 1882, when the platform was raised and extended to allow for the buildings to be put up.

The next site visit is scheduled for Sunday 28th July, where our team will begin to clear out the debris from the ticket office building.
