Update 22.07.2025: fence proposals approved by Network Rail, site visit planned for Sunday 10th August.

Following my earlier post regarding the awaiting of approval for our building plans and fence plans, I am now pleased to say that the fence plans have now been signed off by Network Rail and I anticipate that the building plans will shortly follow.

Under the plans, the fence posts will be permanent, while the fence panels will be temporary until the project’s completion or beyond, subject to the budget available to us at the time.

The fence is a crucial step to help ensure the safety of our volunteers, contractors and site visitors and will help safeguard us against any infringements upon the railway.

I would like to thank Cllr Simon Nash and Cllr Thomas Barclay, who kindly contributed a total of £1,000 towards the fencing costs, which has come from their Councillor Community Grant earlier this year.

If you are interested in sponsoring the project in any way, including sponsoring a fence post or panel to have your name on it, please get in touch at: info@middletontowers.org.uk
